#11 Face Painting

Only pictures can describe this Awesome Thing... prior to sporting events, different CHS groups have sponsored face painting events for kids.  Most recently, the Spirit Squad advertised free face painting before a football game and had a steady stream of kids from 4 PM until the start of the game at 7:30 PM.

But no face painting has been better than the night of the St. Marys football game (see picture below!).

#6 The Spirit March

This new tradition rocks... literally!  Nothing is louder, more exciting, or as thrilling at CHS than this Spirit March.  Here's what happens: each Friday after the bell rings to start the day, our Marching Band quietly walks to the 3rd floor.  When the director blows his whistle to begin the fight song, cheers and excitement can be heard in classrooms as the students pour into the halls to cheer the band on as they wind through the hallways, playing the fight song.

This new tradition, started as a one-time event to help get everyone excited about the 1st game of the year, has grown so popular that students and teachers are begging for it each week!

#3 Pep Rallies

Every student loves getting out of class – doing something different than sitting behind a desk.  That’s where a PEP RALLY comes in… standing up and cheering for your classmates, your school, YOUR BULLDOGS!  The CHS Pep Rally has evolved a great deal in the last 4 years… from something that the students didn’t understand (no one really stood at the 1^st one we had four years ago!) to something that students are begging to do!  Thanks to our newly formed Spirit Squad (see a future post!), CHS Pep Assemblies really are…

#1 We Got Spirit Yes We Do, We Got Spirit How ‘Bout You!

I know all schools have school spirit.  However, right now, I would put our school up against any other high school in a contest for most school spirit!  Just walk our halls on any given Friday and wade through the sea of ‘Bulldog Green’.  And its not just Fridays that we show our Bulldog Spirit – go to any of our sporting events to see a large group of CHS faithful cheering on their classmates.  We don’t limit it to sports either.  Friday night as the Marching Band came off the field at halftime, they were welcomed by a chorus of cheers from the student section. 

We have plenty to cheer about here so that makes it easy to have school spirit... Keep it up!
